A creamy, cozy, and aromatic milk blend with healing Indian spices.
🧂 Ingredients (Serves 2)
2 cups milk (full-fat preferred for richness)
1–2 tsp sugar or jaggery (adjust to taste)
6–8 almonds, crushed or sliced
4–5 pistachios, crushed or sliced (optional)
3–4 strands of saffron (optional, for aroma and color)
🌿 Whole Spices:
2–3 green cardamom pods, crushed
1 small stick cassia cinnamon
2 cloves
A small piece of dry ginger (or ¼ tsp ginger powder)
Optional: pinch of nutmeg or 2–3 black peppercorns for extra warmth
🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Boil the Milk
In a saucepan, bring the milk to a boil over medium heat.
Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking.
Step 2: Add Spices & Nuts
Once the milk starts bubbling, add the cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, dry ginger, and saffron (if using).
Add the crushed almonds and pistachios.
Simmer for 5–7 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse well.
Step 3: Sweeten & Strain
Add sugar or jaggery and stir until dissolved.
Turn off the heat. Strain the milk into cups if you prefer a smooth drink.
Serve hot or warm, garnished with more sliced nuts or a pinch of nutmeg.
🛏️ Perfect For:
A bedtime drink to help you relax and sleep better.
A nourishing tonic during cold weather or for recovery.
A healthy treat for kids or elders alike.
💡 Tips:
For kids, you can blend the nuts into a fine paste for a smoother texture.
Adjust spice levels based on preference — more pepper for warmth, more cardamom for fragrance.
Vegan version: Use almond or oat milk and jaggery instead of sugar.
🌿 Welza Twist:
Use Welza Green Cardamom, Cassia Cinnamon, Whole Cloves, Dry Ginger, and Saffron for a truly royal and aromatic cup of spiced milk.
