2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 tbsp ghee or butter
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
Salt to taste
1–2 tbsp milk or cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
👩🍳 Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the Sweet Potatoes
Boil or steam the sweet potato cubes until tender (about 10–12 minutes).
Drain and mash well using a fork or potato masher.
Step 2: Spice Tempering
Heat ghee or butter in a small pan.
Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
Add grated ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
Stir in turmeric and chilli powder, then turn off the heat.
Step 3: Mix & Mash
Add the tempering to the mashed sweet potatoes.
Season with salt, a splash of milk/cream (if using), and lemon juice.
Mix well until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Garnish
Sprinkle with fresh coriander before serving.
Optional: Add roasted peanuts or fried onions for a crunch!
