A rich, full-bodied tea brewed with bold spices, milk, and black tea leaves — the perfect pick-me-up any time of day.
🧂 Ingredients (Serves 2 cups):
1 ½ cups water
1 cup milk (whole milk preferred for creaminess)
2 tsp black tea leaves or 2 black tea bags (Assam or Darjeeling)
2–3 tsp sugar (adjust to taste)
Whole Spices:
2–3 green cardamom pods
1 small piece cassia bark or cinnamon stick
2–3 cloves
4–5 black peppercorns
1 small piece of ginger (crushed)
Optional: 1 star anise or a pinch of fennel seeds for extra flavor
👩🍳 Instructions:
Step 1: Crush the Spices
Lightly crush the whole spices using a mortar-pestle or the back of a spoon to release their aroma.
Step 2: Boil with Water
In a saucepan, add water and the crushed spices.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 4–5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
Step 3: Add Tea & Milk
Add the black tea leaves and sugar. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
Add milk and let the mixture come to a gentle boil.
Simmer for another 2–3 minutes, allowing the tea to develop a deep color and robust flavor.
Step 4: Strain & Serve
Strain into cups using a fine sieve.
Serve hot, ideally with biscuits, pakoras, or an evening snack.
