A buttery, garlicky rice dish that’s comforting, fragrant, and ready in minutes.
🧂 Ingredients (Serves 2–3):
1 cup basmati rice (or long-grain rice)
2 cups water
1 ½ tbsp butter (or ghee for an Indian twist)
4–5 large cloves garlic, finely chopped or minced
Salt to taste
1 tbsp fresh coriander or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Optional: 1/4 tsp black pepper or red chilli flakes for a kick
👩🍳 Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the Rice
Rinse rice until the water runs clear. Soak for 15–20 minutes (optional but helps with fluffiness).
In a pot, add rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil.
Lower the heat, cover, and simmer until rice is cooked and fluffy (about 12–15 mins).
Turn off heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Butter
In a pan, heat butter on low flame.
Add the chopped garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant (do not burn).
Optionally, add a pinch of black pepper or red chilli flakes.
Step 3: Combine
Gently mix the garlic butter into the hot rice or pour it over while serving.
Garnish with chopped coriander or parsley.
