🌿 Ingredients:
For the Dough:
2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp oil or ghee
Water, as needed to knead
For Cooking:
Ghee or oil, for roasting the parathas
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine atta, ajwain, and salt.
Drizzle in the oil and mix well.
Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, soft dough.
Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
2. Roll the Parathas
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
Roll each ball into a circle (approx. 6 inches wide).
For flakier parathas:
Apply a little ghee, fold in half, then again into a triangle.
Roll out gently into a triangular or circular shape.
3. Cook the Parathas
Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat.
Place a rolled paratha on the hot tawa.
Cook until bubbles appear, then flip.
Apply ghee or oil on both sides and cook until golden brown with crisp spots.
Repeat with remaining dough.
🍽️ Serving Suggestions:
Serve hot with curd, pickle, butter, or chutney.
Pairs wonderfully with dal, sabzi, or a simple cup of masala chai.
💡 Welza Tip:
To enhance flavor and digestion, lightly crush the ajwain before adding it to the dough. You can also mix in a pinch of kasuri methi for added aroma.
