🥛 Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based like almond/oat)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger (or a small piece of fresh ginger, grated)
1 pinch black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
1/2 tsp ghee or coconut oil (optional, for richness and better absorption)
1–2 tsp honey or jaggery (to taste, or maple syrup for vegan)
1/4 tsp cardamom powder (optional, for extra warmth)
Few strands of saffron (optional, for luxury and aroma)
👩🍳 Instructions:
Heat the Milk:
In a small saucepan, gently warm the milk over low-medium heat.
Add Spices:
Whisk in turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and cardamom.
If using, add saffron and ghee/coconut oil.
Simmer:
Let it simmer (not boil) for 3–5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
Sweeten:
Remove from heat. Stir in honey or sweetener of choice (don’t add honey while boiling, as it loses its nutrients).
Strain & Serve:
Strain into a mug if using fresh ginger or saffron.
