A fragrant and colorful topping made from pistachios to give your kheer a royal, festive finish.

🧂 Ingredients (for garnishing 4–6 servings of kheer)
2 tbsp unsalted pistachios (Pista)

1 tsp sugar (optional, for a sweet crunch)

1–2 tsp milk or rose water (for softening and added aroma)

A pinch of cardamom powder

A few saffron strands (optional, for luxury and color)

1/2 tsp ghee (optional, for toasting)

🔪 Preparation
Method 1: Raw & Aromatic
Slice the pistachios thinly using a sharp knife or crush coarsely for texture.

Mix with a pinch of cardamom powder, saffron strands (if using), and a few drops of rose water or milk to lightly soften and release aroma.

Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before garnishing.

Method 2: Toasted & Crunchy
Heat ghee in a small pan.

Add sliced or slivered pistachios, and toast gently for 30–40 seconds until fragrant.

Sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar and stir for 10 seconds for a light caramel coating.

Add cardamom powder and remove from heat.

🎨 How to Use:
Spoon a little kheer into serving bowls.

Sprinkle with the prepared pista garnish.

Optionally, top with silver leaf (varak) or dried rose petals for a festive presentation.
